Overview

Key Homes is a 'social business' in that it is a private sector, for profit business with a social ethos. Key Real Estate Limited (t/a Key Homes) is listed on PLUS Markets. Key Homes was established in order to provide a range of much needed private sector solutions to several affordable housing related issues. Key Homes aims to maintain high standards of living for occupants of its housing and to make affordable home ownership a reality for the growing number of households that do not qualify for the government backed shared ownership or first time buyer schemes (the 'intermediate market').

Market Background

The affordability of housing is now recognized as a serious social and economic issue in the UK. The combination of rising house prices, population growth, migration and demographic changes (such as the growth of the number of smaller households) is likely to result in a long term growth in demand for affordable housing.

At the same time, as home ownership become less accessible, the demand for social housing for those on lower incomes is expected to continue growing.

Our Business

Key Homes is acquiring a portfolio residential housing that is leased to the public or social housing sector.

Our shared ownership offering is aimed at the intermediate market. Although this includes key workers, it encompasses the much larger and rapidly growing market comprising those households on similar incomes and higher. Key Homes does not develop housing for outright market sale and has a long term ownership model.

Key Homes's positioning between private sector developers and investors and the public and social sectors enables us to provide innovative partnership solutions for mixed tenure development and residential property acquisition and leasing.

As well as having venture capital funding, Key Homes is backed by a number of debt and equity investment partners.

The Team

The Key Homes team brings together high-level expertise from the public and social housing sectors and the private property and financing sectors.
